Power and energy management with AC busbar
Many onboard consumers, from lighting and phone chargers to navigation systems and catch-processing equipment, require AC power. Using an AC bus is therefore often an effective solution when designing an onboard power system.
DEIF controllers like the iE Marine, AGC 150 Generator Marine, or PPM 300 can control every single AC power source (genset or engines) plus all associated breakers. All controllers can be interconnected in a power and energy management system (PMS/EMS) that ensures the load demand is always being met in the most fuel-efficient way possible. In addition, the networked controllers ensure that the system stays operational even if one controller should fail.
You can integrate batteries, fuel cells, and AC shore connections in your onboard AC power system using DEIF iE Convert power converters. These devices ensure low-loss conversion between AC and DC, and between voltages and frequencies, helping you reduce fuel consumption, lower carbon emissions, and comply with port emission regulations. In addition, batteries help maximise the efficiency of onboard engines and generators.
DEIF controllers work with both 50 and 60 Hz power. In addition, you can use them with floating frequency systems where the main engine frequency varies between 50 and 60 Hz – saving fuel without disturbing the ship’s electrical network that requires constant voltage and frequency.
In addition to controllers and power converters, DEIF offers a full range of meters, protection relays, bridge instruments, and switchboard equipment – every device you need for a complete AC control solution.

WSS 550
Ship navigation relies on accurate, real-time wind data to capture changes in wind speed or direction, helping the crew correct the course or avoid potentially dangerous situations. DEIF’s WSS 550 wind sensor combined with the XDi-N indicator is a cost effective and flexible solution that meets the everyday wind measuring needs of the maritime sector.
WSS 750
Ship navigation relies on accurate, real-time wind data to capture changes in wind speed or direction, helping the crew correct the course or avoid potentially dangerous situations. This is especially true for the harshest marine environments. The DEIF WSS 750 wind sensor combined with the DEIF XDi-N indicator is a cost effective and flexible solution that meets the harshest wind measuring needs of the maritime sector.
