Hybrid power
With both AC, DC and combination power architectures you can integrate batteries, fuel cells, shore power, and future marine power sources using DEIF control devices. By integrating sustainable power sources, you enable hybrid propulsion and power for onboard equipment, and you gain several opportunities for load sharing and performance optimisation.
You can control a battery inverter and inverter breaker using the PPM/PPU 300 Hybrid. The controller integrates closely with your power and energy management system and ensures that the battery is charged or discharged as needed, for example to provide peak shaving or emission-free propulsion in sensitive marine areas, and to provide instant power when the load demand surges.
Fuel cells can be added in the same way as batteries, and you can control the fuel cell inverter using a PPM/PPU 300 Hybrid. Both batteries and fuel cells are ideally suited for integration on the DC side in combination bus architectures or in pure DC solutions, but you can also integrate them in an AC solution by adding converters.
You can control a shore power switchboard with a PPM/PPU 300 Hybrid, allowing your ship to run on shore grid or battery power and reducing harmful emissions while in port. Depending on whether the shore power connection supplies AC or DC, it can feed the AC or DC side of a combination bus architecture or a pure AC or DC bus solution directly (or be converted from AC to DC or vice versa on board as required).
There are other ways of reducing vessel fuel consumption and emissions, for example waste heat recovery systems that generate electricity from exhaust heat (typically by using the heat to power boilers and generate electricity in a turbine). You can control the turbine using a PPM/PPU 300 and ensure integration in the ship's power and energy management system.

WSS 550
Ship navigation relies on accurate, real-time wind data to capture changes in wind speed or direction, helping the crew correct the course or avoid potentially dangerous situations. DEIF’s WSS 550 wind sensor combined with the XDi-N indicator is a cost effective and flexible solution that meets the everyday wind measuring needs of the maritime sector.
WSS 750
Ship navigation relies on accurate, real-time wind data to capture changes in wind speed or direction, helping the crew correct the course or avoid potentially dangerous situations. This is especially true for the harshest marine environments. The DEIF WSS 750 wind sensor combined with the DEIF XDi-N indicator is a cost effective and flexible solution that meets the harshest wind measuring needs of the maritime sector.
